The Workshop
Dive deep into the world of positive reinforcement and effective intervention strategies with our hands-on journey through understanding behavior at its core. We'll be exploring the fundamentals of behavior, learning why individuals act the way they do, and uncovering the social, emotional, and environmental factors that influence actions. From the ABCs of behavior (Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence) to the implementation of functional assessment, this course lays the groundwork for anyone looking to support individuals in developing more positive behavior patterns.
Now, let's translate theory into practice. You’ll get the chance to apply these concepts through real-life case studies and role-play scenarios that mirror situations you may encounter in educational settings, healthcare facilities, or even at home. By the end of this adventure, you’ll walk away with a toolkit brimming with strategies for crafting personalized behavior support plans, ready to make a tangible impact and improve the quality of life for those you support. Whether you’re aiming to boost your professional skill set or simply want to foster a more harmonious environment among those you care for, mastering these techniques can be a game-changer.

Meet Your Instructor
With over two decades of dedicated experience in intensive care nursing, my career commenced in 1991 and has been marked by a steadfast commitment to providing exceptional patient care, particularly as a Registered ICU Nurse since 2001. Specializing in community ventilation and tracheostomy, my expertise has evolved through hands-on clinical excellence and a nuanced understanding of care for those with complex medical conditions in community settings.
My passion for teaching is deeply rooted in the profound connections I've built with patients and the insights I've garnered throughout my journey in high-intensity community care. I bring this wealth of knowledge into the classroom, where I aim to inspire and cultivate a new generation of healthcare professionals who are as dedicated to behaviour support as I am.
My focus is not only to impart practical skills, but also to instill the empathy and emotional intelligence that lie at the heart of truly transformative support.
